Who Will Replace Fred Hoiberg at Iowa State?

March 13 2015: UTEP Miners head coach Tim Floyd chats with his team during a break in action of the C-USA Basketball Tournament semifinal between the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders and the UTEP Miners. Middle Tennessee defeated Middle UTEP by the score of 53-50 at the Legacy Arena at the BJCC in Birmingham, Alabama.

The worst kept secret in basketball was revealed this past week. Former Iowa State head coach Fred Hoiberg took his fast-pace offense to the NBA and the Chicago Bulls. This was the plan all year for both parties involved, but since we’re a college sports site, let’s take a look at the Iowa State Cyclones.

More importantly, let’s take a look at who will replace Hoiberg at Iowa State, who is leaving the program after the most successful five-year run in school history.

The biggest problem that will likely come in the coaching search is the alleged disconnect between school President Steven Leath and school AD Jamie Pollard. Leath wants to make the big-time name move while Leath, who hired Hoiberg, is looking at best fits for the program.

With that said here are the likely candidates to replace Hoiberg, with my prediction of who will run Hilton Magic in 2015-16.
