In the latest edition of “Signs of the College Sports Apocalypse”, LeBron James had to ask colleges to stop recruiting his 10-year-old son Wednesday.
That’s right. 10 years old. Do you remember what you were doing when you were just a decade removed from the womb? Our Fan Tweet of the Night by Kyle Cordova takes us right back to the time the world, and sports for that matter, was much smaller:
LeBron James Jr. receiving college letters & offers and he's 10 yrs old.. His recruitment videos were playing on a plastic Fisher Price hoop

Those were the days. My 1 1/2 inch vertical allowed me to sky over the rim and throw down with the best in the cul-de-sac. If I got upset, the hollow 3-foot goal was no match for my wrath. Forget being a 10-year-old phenom with the genetics of a super human, just give me a Fisher Price goal and ignorant confidence in my athleticism once more. Thank you, Kyle, for taking us back to when we were all worthy of YouTube hype tapes in our own minds. I hope you get whatever the adult-life version may be of a full-ride scholarship.
(Editor’s note: The kid in the picture is not Kyle. Clearly he was much better than settling for jumpers from 3 inches.)
