Von Pearson Reinstated to Tennessee Football Program

After being cleared of rape charges on Wednesday, Tennessee has reinstated senior wide receiver Von Pearson to the football program on Friday, reports the Knoxville News Sentinel.

Tennessee football’s Twitter page made this announcement:

Pearson was accused of rape in April and was subsequently suspended from the program shortly thereafter. He has not been at Haslam Field for any practices so far.

Chris Coffey, Pearson’s attorney, had said that Pearson was placed on interim suspension by the school and that would have to be lifted for him to rejoin the team. Tennessee coach Butch Jones was to address Pearson’s situation after Friday’s practice.

The 6’3”, 187-pound receiver from Newport News, Virginia is coming off a 2014 season that saw him record 38 receptions for 393 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
