Auburn landed big help on the offensive line when Texas’ Darius James announced that he will transfer to become a Tiger.
James, a redshirt sophomore, will have to sit out this season before being eligible the following year.
The 6-foot-5 304-pound lineman played in six games last season and started two of them. He tore his ACL in November.
James was a five-star top-20 recruit out of Harker Heights, Texas. He was ranked No. 17 in the country by ESPN. He will have two seasons of eligibility remaining at Auburn.
James becomes the fifth offensive lineman to transfer from Texas since Charlie Strong took over as head coach.
