Texas A&M’s nightmare in Starkville continued into the second half on Saturday as their starting quarterback left a game that could spell the end of the school’s run in the top 10. Trevor Knight left the game due to injury in the fourth quarter with the Aggies down multiple scores to the Bulldogs.

Knight battled with injuries for much of the game after he was taken down hard on a run to the goal line. The wear and tear of a physical game eventually proved too much for the signal caller despite his valiant effort as he left the game for good in the second half after a few trips to the trainers.

He was spotted on the sidelines with a sling on his right arm, something that is not a good sign for the Aggies. Without their quarterback, the final stretch of their SEC schedule becomes much more daunting. Ole Miss and LSU’s chances of furthering Texas A&M’s misery in the final month the season certainly increases in the scenario in which Knight is on the sidelines.

With a loss to the 3-5 Bulldogs and the potential of a Knight injury, the Aggies will head to into next Saturday’s game against Ole Miss after a stumble that should end their hopes of a place in the College Football Playoff. Knight’s injury will be their biggest concern as without their quarterback, the final month could be a disaster for a Texas A&M team that started the season with high hopes.
