Every year it seems that the non-conference schedule for Power Five Conferences grows in intensity and toughness. With the College Football Playoff weighing in the strength of schedule, it’s important for teams to notch as many impressive wins outside the conference as possible.

The 2015 non-conference slate in the Big Ten looks to be an interesting one with plenty of implications on the line through the first month of the season. Some weekends will be more entertaining than others, with September 19th looking like a day that a Big Ten junkie won’t have enough screens to catch all the great match-ups.

Since it’s the week of the “Sweet 16” on hardwood, let’s take a look at 16 pretty sweet non-conference match-ups on the Big Ten gridiron.  Each team has it’s most important game featured, with a few bonus games included.
