South Carolina Gamecocks senior guard Tiffany Mitchell—the two-time reigning SEC Player of the Year and consensus first-team AP All-American—reportedly underwent surgery on her foot last week, but is expected to be in the starting lineup for the regular season opener in November.

According to the school’s official athletic website, Mitchell decided to have the small procedure due to a stress-related injury following a sprained ankle during a USA Basketball exhibition game leading up to the Pan American Games.
Mitchell, who is South Carolina’s leading scorer the last two seasons, averaged 14.4 points as a junior and won the Dawn Staley Award as the best guard in the nation.
South Carolina finished 34-3 (15-1 SEC) with a Final Four appearance in 2014-15.
