SMU has received a notice of allegations from the NCAA over academic issues, according to ESPN’s Jeff Goodman. The school is reviewing the accusations and plans to meet with the NCAA.
The report also makes specific allegations against Keith Frazier, who was recently declared academically ineligible. Head coach Larry Brown also told Goodman that the issues began before Frazier arrived at SMU in addition to GPA issues at the school. SMU has appealed his academic suspension to the NCAA.
Frazier is averaging over 10 points per game for the Mustangs, which are 13-4 on the season and 4-1 in the American Conference.
