You can calm down now Kentucky fans. Your nightmares are over, as it has been reported that stud freshman Skal Labissiere has been ruled eligible for this season.
Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports was the first to report the news on Twitter.
Kentucky freshman Skal Labissiere — projected top draft pick — has received NCAA eligibility to play 2015-16 season, sources tell Yahoo.

Suffice to say, this is huge news and a relief for Wildcats’ head coach John Calipari. Labissiere is the centerpiece of Calipari’s 2016 recruiting class. If you need reminding, Labissiere was 247 Sports’ No. 2 overall prospect in the 2016 class and is projected by many to next year’s No. 1 pick in the NBA draft.
Labissiere is now set to join fellow freshmen Isiah Briscoe, Jamal Murray, Isaac Humphries and Charles Matthews, as well as Juco transfer Mychal Mulder, in Calipari’s monster class. With most of Kentucky’s roster gone from the team that almost went undefeated before losing to Wisconsin in the Final Four last season, Labissiere and the other frosh will again be expected to carry a big load.
Still, the talent is undeniable in Lexington, and Kentucky is Today’s U No. 3 team heading into the 2015-16 season. The Wildcats are set to open their season against Albany on November 13.
