ESPN’s Brett McMurphy is reporting that Miami defensive tackle Michael Wyche has been arrested on a domestic violence charge and has been suspended indefinitely by the school. According to Christy Cabrera Chirinos of the Sun Sentinel, Wyche was arrested Wednesday morning on a misdemeanor domestic violence battery charge and is being held on $1,500 bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami.

Chirinos also wrote that officials at Miami know of the issue and issued a statement only saying it was “aware of the situation involving senior defensive tackle Michael Wyche,” and would not comment further.
As if Miami didn’t have enough issues after firing Al Golden this week, the reported arrest of Wyche is something interim coach Larry Scott can live without.
Wyche, a 6’4”, 325-pound senior from Chesapeake, Virginia, has appeared in four games with the Hurricanes this year but has not accumulated any stats. Last season, Wyche recorded nine tackles and half a sack.
Miami (4-3, 1-2) is set to play No. 22 Duke on the road this Saturday.
