Statically speaking, you can make the case that Marcus Mariota was the most efficient quarterback in college football history. And even though he’s busy “fighting to the death” with Zach Mettenberger for QB1 of the Tennessee Titans, talent at the position still remains thick across the board in the Pac-12 Conference.
That’s especially true for the USC Trojans, who return redshirt senior Cody Kessler—a Heisman Trophy and All-American candidate, and also the program’s record holder in completion percentage (67.9).
Though top heavy on paper—six teams are handing the ball to a new gunslinger—it looks to be yet another year of outstanding quarterback play for the Pac-12 as a whole.
Here’s how I rank the conference’s quarterbacks as we grind our way through the end of May.
No. 6-12 (in order): Kevin Hogan, Stanford; Sefo Liufau, Colorado; Josh Rosen*, UCLA; Travis Wilson*, Utah; Luke Falk*, Washington State; K.J. Carta-Samuels*, Washington; Seth Collins*, Oregon State.
