The Wildcats’ defense held Minnesota to just 173 yards of offense, improving the unit’s status to No. 6 nationally (247.4 allowed per game) in that category. They now rank No. 1 in the FBS in average points allowed at just 7.0.
Northwestern wins, 27-0. This calls for Macarena and hip thrust. https://t.co/cWSSiyCe2r

Now 5-0 (1-0), this is the team’s best start since 2012, when the Wildcats finished 10-3 (5-3) with a win over Mississippi State in the Gator Bowl.
Expect Northwestern, which entered the game No. 16 in the latest AP poll, to make another jump in the rankings.
