Nike Honors Kentucky, Duke and North Carolina With New Concept

Nike is always on the cutting edge when it comes to shoe design and fashion, so it shouldn’t surprising to hear that the company that made “Just Do It” famous has once again released an awesome looking design.

Scout.com’s Anthony Hollingsworth passes on Nike’s newest concept (expected to release at 10:00 pm ET on October 30th, for the price of $110 per), which features three new looks that pay homage to three of college basketball’s most impressive programs: Duke, North Carolina and Kentucky.

The shoe is called the Nike Free Trainer 5.0 and each shoe is specifically designed for one of the three schools. So for instance, Duke’s shoes feature the iconic Duke Blue contrasted by a sharp white lettering and black accents. The tongue of the shoe boasts the school nickname on the inside, and on-top the school logo. The inside padding of the shoe also has the team nickname printed on it, so there would be no doubt as to which team you’re representing when you’re rocking these bad boys.

Of course Kentucky’s shoes are adorned in the Wildcats’ specific shade of blue (as well as a sweet UK logo on top of the tongue as well as inside on the padding), and the Tar Heels shoe features the sharp-looking Carolina Blue as well as two different logos on the shoe.

One would have to imagine that these shoes will end up being insanely popular with fans, students and players alike; so once again Nike has outdone itself with a brilliant marketing strategy.

These shoes are awesome, but again, that’s not a surprise.
