Playing in just its third season in the SEC, Missouri once again proved it could hang with the big boys by posting an 11-3 record while winning its second-straight bowl game.
Backed by the nation’s top defensive end duo of Shane Ray and Markus Golden, the Tigers terrorized SEC quarterbacks to the tune of 42 sacks while allowing just 21.1 points per game.
Ultimately, Alabama easily tamed the Tigers in the SEC Championship by a lopsided score of 42-13. So what does Gary Pinkel need to do to get his team over the hump?
His first task will be replacing the production from Ray and Golden, who entered the NFL draft. Finding replacements for receivers Bud Sasser and Jimmie Hunt will also be easier said than done for the longtime head coach.
