Missouri Extends Contract of WBB Coach Robin Pingeton

Missouri announced Friday that it has extended the contract of women’s basketball coach Robin Pingeton. Pingeton agreed to a five-year extension that will run through April 30, 2020 with a base salary worth $300,000.

Missouri’s athletic site issued a release confirming the news on Friday.

“We are excited to announce a new contract for Coach Pingeton,” Director of Athletics Mack Rhoades said in a statement. “Robin has done a tremendous job laying a strong foundation for a program that will compete both in the SEC and nationally for years to come. The future of Mizzou Women’s Basketball is very bright and we look forward to watching our student-athletes continue to grow and succeed under her leadership.”

Pingeton has been the Tigers coach for the last five seasons. She has amassed a 79-79 record at the school, while taking the Tigers to the Women’s NIT the last three seasons. Pingeton played in the WBA for three years and has been a Division I head coach for the last 12 years, while also having coached Illinois State.

Missouri is coming off a 19-14 season and is set to open its 2015-16 season on November 13 against Missouri State on the road.
