Michigan Football Set to Wear Jordan Brand/Jumpman Apparel

ESPN’s Darren Rovell fired off a series of Tweet’s Thursday stating that the Michigan football team will be donning Jordan Brand apparel with the Jumpman logo instead of the traditional Nike “swoosh” logo. He states with this move, the Wolverines will be the first football team to do so.

Talk about re-branding your image! Both Michigan football and basketball will be Jordan Brand, while all other athletic teams will sport the swoosh.

Rovell tweeted that two ex-Wolverines, Charles Woodson and LaMarr Woodley, are paid to wear Jordan Brand on the football field. As for how this happened, well, his Airness himself, Michael Jordan, called up football coach Jim Harbaugh to make this happen

Done deal.

Interim athletic director Jim Hackett helped get this deal off the ground. Nike was what defined Michigan in the 90’s, when both their football and basketball programs were thriving. Michigan’s deal with Nike will be for 11 years, which is worth $169-million with options. It is the most lucrative deal in the NCAA.
