LSU football coach Les Miles had some interesting things to say about about Tiger basketball standout Ben Simmons on Thursday. Miles said that the No.1 recruit (according to 247sports) in the 2015 basketball class can play in his goal-line packages anytime.
“What a magnificent player, and I just want you to know, so you know, if he’s interested in taking some snaps for us, he can come over,” Miles said (via Jerit Roser of NOLA.com). “I’m very honest. And I can give him a goal-line position where I would throw it to him. All he’s got to prove to me is one thing is that he can catch.”
Like LeBron James (and before you rant, I am not comparing the two), Simmons has that once-in-a-generation type athleticism that can transcend all sports. With great hands and speed, Simmons is truly an athlete to be in awe of. You can read more about Simmons and his future in Randy Rosetta’s fine feature article.

“If he can catch, and certainly we would all predict in this room that he could, he will set the NCAA record for touchdowns.” Miles added (via NOLA.com). We’ll just send him over there, and when three guys are on him, we’ll run it, OK? When two guys are on him, we’ll throw him the ball.”
I don’t think LSU basketball coach Johnny Jones has anything to worry about just yet, but it is still interesting to see how Miles feel’s about Simmons’ God-given abilities.
We all are, Les. We all are.
