Indiana football picked up a commitment today from a very interesting JUCO tight end, and that player is none other than Ian Thomas, 3-star from Nassau C.C.
Thomas, 6-foot-5, 220 pounds, announced his commitment to the Hoosiers’ football program on Twitter, posting a picture of himself with a Hoosiers’ jersey on—obviously taken during a visit—as well as a photo of himself with Indiana head coach Kevin Wilson.

Per Alex McCarthy of 247Sports, Thomas received his offer from Indiana while on an official visit to the school this past weekend. He also passed on quotes from Thomas, which were gathered after said official visit.
“I like how the team is one like a family,” Thomas said via McCarthy. “I didn’t get to meet everyone, but I just get the vibe from being around those guys.”
Indiana’s 2016 class now features 11 commitments, with Thomas checking in as the third JUCO pledge this cycle for the Hoosiers. Ironically enough, 3-star JUCO quarterback Richard Lagow committed to Indiana on Monday night.
Back to Thomas, the 3-star tight end also had offers from Idaho, Middle Tennessee State, New Mexico, South Alabama and Temple. Indiana’s 2016 class is now ranked 84th nationally, according to the 247Sports Composite National Team Rankings.
