Georgia’s Riley Ridley won’t return against Florida

“The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party” is tightly contested through two quarters, but the Georgia Bulldogs will go into the second half down four points without one of their wide receivers. The Bulldogs became victims of a first half injury that will take away one of freshman quarterback Jacob Eason’s top targets for the rest of the game.

Down 14-10 after the half to the Florida Gators, the Bulldogs will also be without Riley Ridley while they attempt a second half comeback to knock off their SEC foes. The team announced that the freshman wide receiver’s ankle injury would force him out of the game at the start of the second half, a sad end to the Ridley’s first rivalry game appearance.

The up-and-coming pass catcher has contributed two solid games for the Bulldogs in his two appearances this season. The wide out has seven catches in those two games with 126 yards and one touchdown already under his belt. This production as a freshman indicates a bright future at the program for Ridley as he is expected to form a long relationship with his fellow freshman quarterback in Eason.

Unfortunately for Ridley, he will have to wait for next season and the rest of his career to make an impact in the Georgia-Florida rivalry. Next year will hopefully be different for the talented freshman, who will now have to bounce back from a setback in which he suffered in the biggest game of his first season with the Bulldogs.
