Florida State 3rd-String QB Transferring to EMCC

When a program goes out of its way to recruit a graduate transfer quarterback, odds are pretty high that another player at the same position on the two-deep is going to go looking for a new home.

This was the case on Wednesday morning, as a report by Fox Sports indicated that Florida State redshirt sophomore John Franklin III will be transferring to East Mississippi Community College—a member of the NJCAA—where he will play for new QB coach Clint Trickett, who was a former FSU (2010-12) and West Virginia (2013-14) gunslinger.

Franklin did not see the field in his two years as a Seminole, but his athleticism is second to none. He was awarded as an All-ACC track and field performer, won the Offensive Scout Team Player Award in 2013, and reportedly runs a 4.38 40-yard dash.
