Duke’s Plumlee to Enter U.S. Army

Duke junior Marshall Plumlee will serve in the U.S. Army following his graduation in 2016. Coach K, who played and coached at Army, and the rest of the Duke basketball team was at Plumlee’s ROTC ceremony on Friday in Cameron Indoor Stadium:

Plumlee is averaging 2.5 points and 2.4 rebounds per game this season for the Blue Devils. Though both his brothers are now playing in the NBA, this big man has been in Duke’s ROTC program since 2012 and will serve immediately following his graduation next year. At 7-feet tall, Plumlee¬†is four inches taller than the 80-inch Army height limit but was granted a special waiver to be eligible.
