ANN ARBOR, Mich. – This week has been a whirlwind for 4-star senior Skyline outside linebacker Daelin Hayes, and it’s not even Thursday yet.
Earlier this week, USC head coach Steve Sarkisian was asked to take a leave of absence from the Trojans. One day later, he was fired from his position as USC head coach, leaving many current Trojan commits questioning their status with the school as well.
Daelin Hayes, an outside linebacker in his first year with Skyline, reopened his recruitment on Sunday night by posting a message on Twitter.
Standing at 6’4” and 245-pounds, Hayes plays running back in addition to his duties at outside linebacker and defensive end for the Eagles. He’s explosive at the point of attack, uses his length to close passing windows and is an explosive rusher off the edge. These qualities have led college coaches to project Hayes to numerous positions at the next level.
With over 20 offers to his name, the No. 8 outside linebacker on 247Sports.com released a list of which schools he would be taking an official visit to on Wednesday night.

First on the docket is an official visit to Notre Dame (5-1) this weekend as the Fighting Irish host USC (3-2), his former school of choice. After that, Hayes will visit Ohio State, Michigan State, Oklahoma and LSU in sequential order during November.
This timeline puts Hayes in the ballpark to make a decision sometime between December and National Signing Day. Even if Hayes commits on a visit, expect his recruitment to stretch until he signs his letter of intent.
At this point, Notre Dame is believed to be the frontrunner in his recruitment.
