The date and times for the College Football Playoff (CFP) have been set for next season. Next year’s first CFP semifinal will start at 4 p.m. ET on Thursday, December 31, 2015, with the second game tentatively set for 8 p.m. ET.
This comes after last year’s CFP semifinals were both played on January 1 at the Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl, respectively. This season’s semifinal games will be played at the Cotton Bowl and Orange Bowl.

The College Football Playoff has announced the start times for the six feature games for Dec. 31 and Jan. 1, affectionately known as the “New Year’s Six.”
The difference in 2015 is that the national semifinals, instead of being played on Jan. 1 again, will be on Dec. 31. If the second semifinal of the day runs long, you might be kissing at midnight with one eye on the nearest television.
The order of the games will be revealed on December 6 once the pairings are officially announced. Last year’s CFP games drew record ratings for ESPN and that should continue well into the future. Ohio State won the first CFP championship after they beat Oregon, 42-20.
Also announced Tuesday, was the Peach Bowl to be played on December 31 at noon ET. On New Year’s Day, the Fiesta Bowl will be played at 1 p.m. ET, the Rose Bowl at 5 p.m ET and the Sugar Bowl at 8:30 p.m. ET.
