The College Football Playoff Selection Committee announced on Thursday that their weekly rankings will begin on November 3. The first unveiling of the rankings will take place on November 3 at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN with the final rankings set for release on December 6.
Like last year, committee members will produce rankings weekly beginning after the ninth weekend of games. The members will meet in person on Mondays and Tuesdays.
“We reviewed our process and procedures during the off-season and we’re very pleased with how things turned out last season,” said Jeff Long, committee chair, in a release. “The purpose of this week’s meetings was to continue to orient our two new members and begin to focus on the upcoming season. We look forward to reconvening this fall.”
The committee met this week and also wanted to remind people the recusal policy will remain as it was last season, for which mandates: “A recused member shall not participate in any votes involving the team from which the individual is recused.” (I.E. Tyrone Willingham not voting for Duke since his daughter is employed by the school or Stanford since his son is on staff there as well).
