Hugh Freeze and Ole Miss picked up a nice commitment when class of 2016 cornerback Myles Hartsfield offered up a pledge to play for the Rebels on Tuesday.
Hartsfield made his announcement on Twitter saying:
“I would like to thank God, family and fiends that have been with me in the past year! Lord knows I appreciate everything that has tuned me into the man I am today! It was not only a long road traveled but also a great learning experience for my family and I! I would like to thank all my coaches and teammates from East Coast Prep and from the Sayreville Bombers! After a long time coming me and my family have decided to join the Ole Miss Rebels family! #HottyDoddy #LandSharks”

Hartsfield, a 6’0”, 195-pound cornerback from Parlin, New Jersey, and who preps at East Coast Prep (formerly of Sayreville War Memorial High School), has a profile at 247 Sports, but is not currently rated or ranked. However, he was a player that was gaining traction in recruiting circles.
He chose the Rebels while also holding offers from Boston College, East Carolina, Temple and UCLA. Hartsfield was also gaining interest from Alabama, Indiana, Nebraska, Penn State, Purdue, Rutgers, Syracuse and West Virginia.
Harstfield is Freeze’s 19th commitment of the 2016 recruiting class, a class that 247 Sports now ranks as the ninth-best in the country.
