As I said when I wrote my Big East Bubble Watch, it’s pretty cut and dry when it comes to the Big East teams and their chances for making the NCAA Tournament. The conference is looking like it has six teams firmly in at the moment, although that could change if teams like Xavier and St. John’s slip up towards the end.
Regarding the bottom-four teams, the only team that has a chance for postseason play (perhaps NIT) is if Seton Hall can get their act together and pick up a few wins in the next few weeks. After that, it doesn’t seem likely DePaul, Creighton and Marquette will be participating in any postseason tournament.
So, let’s once again look at this week’s Big East power rankings.
