Auburn Tigers Areas for Improvement

NCAA FOOTBALL: OCT 11 Auburn at Mississippi State

Just a year removed from a heartbreaking loss to Florida State in the BCS National Championship, Auburn couldn’t quite recapture the magic that propelled the team to within a few yards of winning its second national title since 2010.

The Tigers’ 2014 season featured its ups and downs, including a peak ranking of No. 2 in the AP Poll. However, an inconsistent defense prevented the Tigers from reaching their potential, with the season culminating in an overtime loss to Wisconsin in the Outback Bowl.

Heading into the 2015 season, Gus Malzahn’s squad should still be one of the favorites in the SEC West. Auburn just reeled in the No. 7 recruiting class, highlighted by top overall recruit Byron Cowart and JUCO star Jovon Robinson. And with Will Muschamp coordinating the defense, the Tigers have plenty of optimism for this season. Let’s take a look at the Tigers’ top areas for improvement.
