Arizona State is honoring one of its most heroic and celebrated alums in a special way tonight, as the school will be sporting throwback uniforms in honor of Pat Tillman in its game against Oregon.
Adidas and Arizona State announced this week that the Sun Devils would be wearing special “PT42” cleats to commemorate the life of Tillman. As it turns out, they will also be wearing some cool throwback jerseys.

Tillman’s name will be the only name that will on the back of every Sun Devil player’s jersey on Thursday.
If you don’t know the story of Tillman, I suggest you read into it. Shortly after the 9/11 terror attacks, Tillman quit his cushy NFL job and joined the US Army. He would sadly get killed in the line of duty in a friendly fire in the spring of 2004.
