It was announced Thursday that Alabama freshman running back, and former five-star recruit, Bo Scarbrough has been suspended for the first four games of the season by Nick Saban, reports Charlie Potter of BamaOnLine247.
Scarbrough, a 6’2”, 225-pound running back from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, is overcoming an ACL injury he suffered in April. Potter states that Scarbrough was limited at Thursday’s practice, while wearing a black, no-contact jersey. Saban later said Scarbrough was suspended for “an NCAA thing”regarding his amateurism eligibility. He is ahead of schedule physically, though.
Scarbrough comes to Alabama with a lot of hype. According to 247sports, Scarbrough was the 16th best recruit in the 2015 class and the No.2 athlete in the country. He was supposed to add depth at running back behind junior Derrick Henry and senior Kenyan Drake.
Alabama is coming off another solid season in which they went 12-2 and lost to Ohio State in the College Football Playoff. The Crimson Tide open their 2015 season on September 5 against Wisconsin at Dallas’ AT&T Stadium.
