The Alabama Crimson Tide and the Florida State Seminoles will meet in Atlanta to open the 2017 college football season, according to the Palm Beach Post. No contract has been signed as of yet, but the date has been agreed upon.
The game will take place in the new stadium being built for the Atlanta Falcons. The facility is expected to be completed by 2017. The Post says each school will make between $4 and $5 million for the game.
The two schools have only met on the gridiron four time, with the most recent coming back in 2007 in Jacksonville. FSU won that game 21-14, earning its only victory in the series. The other games were played in Tuscaloosa, with Alabama winning in 1965 and 1974 and the two teams tying in 1967.
