After a complete dismantling of a really good Maryland team last night, things got even better for the Ohio State Buckeyes when they landed highly sought-after 5-star combo guard JaQuan Lyle, according to multiple reports.
Lyle has great size at 6’5” and can play either guard position effectively. He’s unstoppable when driving to the basket, always finding the open man when he isn’t scoring himself. He has excellent court vision and his length and size allows him to be a solid on-ball defender. With freshman stud D’Angelo Russell likely declaring for the NBA draft after this season, the Buckeyes needed a new versatile guard. It appears they’ve gotten their man.
A huge question mark is whether or not Lyle actually ends up attending Ohio State. Originally a member of the class of 2014, Lyle is currently doing a post-grad year at IMG Academy in Florida after being denied admission from Oregon after he committed to the Ducks back in March of last year. This is the third school Lyle has committed to in the last two years. He committed to the Louisville Cardinals in June of 2013 before decommitting three months later.
