According to a report relayed by 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong, 5-star defensive end Oluwole Betiku decommitted from the UCLA Bruins’ 2016 class on Friday morning.
However, the Bruins are still listed as the “favorite” for the 6’3.5,” 240-pound pass-rusher from Junipero Serra in Gardena, Calif.
According to his 247Sports timeline, Betiku officially visited Texas A&M on Oct. 16. On Oct. 6, he visited Florida State–just two months after his Aug. 6 commitment to UCLA. If the recruiting experts’ predictions come true, Betiku–who had 22 offers–could land at USC.
With that said, expect a few others to make moves toward Betiku.

Despite losing the No. 1-ranked DE in the country, UCLA still has one of the best 2016 classes in the nation. According to 247Sports, the Bruins have the No. 16-ranked class overall and No. 3 in the Pac-12. The upcoming haul is highlighted by 4-star DE Breland Brandt and 4-star LB Lokeni Toailoa.
According to 247Sports (those guys are into recruiting), Betiku recently scheduled a visit to Florida. The Gators are enjoying a resurgence this season, and that success could be enough to land a player such as Betiku–who has a short amount of time, but plenty of options, to make the best decision for his career.
