NEW LONDON, N.C. – In light of an upcoming unofficial visit to Ohio State, 4-star running back Antonio Williams has decommitted from Wisconsin.
Williams, who’s ranked as the No. 5 running back in the 2016 class, according to 247sports, announced his decommitent on Twitter, stating that he’s opening things back up out of respect for the Badgers’ staff. “I would not feel like an honest individual if I did not do this and took a visit to another school,” Williams writes in his Twitter update:

Evan Flood of 247Sports relayed to his readers in a free update that Wisconsin has already reached out to other running backs in light of Williams’ decision. Looking at the Badgers’ offer list, there are still some notable uncommitted running backs on the table who already have offers from Wisconsin, including 4-star Antonio Williams, 4-star Daelin Hayes (a recent USC decommitment), 4-star Robert Washington and 3-star Deon McIntosh. Keep in mind that Wisconsin also already has a commitment from 4-star athlete A.J. Taylor from Kansas City, Missouri. The Badgers were planning on bringing him in as a wide receiver—he talked about those plans recently with Today’s U—but he is one of the higher ranked running back recruits in the nation as well. Per the industry generated 247Sports Composite, Taylor is the No. 6 all-purpose back in the nation. Turning our attention back to Williams, obviously his upcoming visit to Ohio State is worth keeping an eye on. He does have an offer from Ohio State, and keep in mind OSU’s star running back commitment—5-star Kareem Walker—did just officially visit Michigan and he’s planning on taking all of his visits.
Things are about to get very interesting…
