The Alabama Crimson Tide landed themselves a four-star recruit for their 2016 class earlier this week in 6-foot-2, 208-pound duel-threat quarterback Jalen Hurts.
“At Alabama, I loved Coach (Nick) Saban’s plans for his players,” Hurts said in a statement. “Not only do they have a great competitive football program, but academically they also do a great job.
“Their focus is to give you the tools to become a successful man in life, and that is my main goal. I absolutely love what Alabama has in store for their students and athletes. They have lots of history and everlasting tradition. I feel this was the best decision for me, as I am a boy trying to become a man. I am very comfortable with my decision and very blessed to be in this situation. I will be ready to compete at U of A when that time comes. But for now all I can say is Roll Tide.”
Hurts is ranked ranked No. 277 nationally among all players and ninth among duel-threat quarterbacks according to 247Sports. He threw for 2,545 yards and 21 touchdowns as a junior. He added 951 yards and 19 touchdowns on the ground.
Mississippi State and Texas A&M were also finalists.
