4-Star Point Guard Payton Pritchard Commits to Oregon

Class of 2016 four-star point guard, and Oregon native, Payton Pritchard has decided to stay close to home, as he announced Friday that he has committed to play for Dana Altman and the Oregon Ducks.

After committing to Oklahoma in November and then feeling he rushed his decision, Pritchard felt comfortable staying home with this commitment. ESPN’s Reggie Rankin was the first to report the news on Twitter:

Rankin later Tweeted a quote saying staying close to home was a big factor for Pritchard with him saying, “I wanted to stay in my state & play for my home state & my relationship with Coach Altman is Great”

Pritchard, who is 6’1”, 188-pounds from West Linn, Oregon, is rated as a four-star recruit according to 247 Sports and is ranked as the 48th prospect in the 2016 class and No.8 point guard in the country. Besides overtures from Oklahoma, he chose the Ducks over interest from Villanova and Wisconsin as well.
