Skyline High School (Ann Arbor, MI) outside linebacker Daelin Hayes teamed up with Bleacher Report to put together a “Dark Knight”-themed hype video for his college announcement, and it’s nothing like you’ve seen before.
Narrowed down to three schools — Ohio State, Michigan State, and Notre Dame — Hayes receives a mysterious phone call while working out on a football field. The anonymous person on the line gives him five minutes to reach a particular destination in order to select where he will be playing at the next level.
Hayes (6-foot-4, 250 lbs.), a four-star prospect and the No. 9 player at his position (per 247Sports), sprints past Ohio State and Michigan State, before reaching the location of choice: Notre Dame.
“Trust in the Lord with all of your heart, and lean not on your own understanding,” Hayes says in the video. “In all your ways, submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.
“God, country, Notre Dame,” he finished. “Go Irish!”
With the addition of Hayes, Notre Dame now has 19 hard commits for the recruiting class of 2016, and ranks 17th nationally (No. 1 among FBS Independents). He picked the Irish over Ohio State, Michigan State, Michigan, USC, and many others.
