The Syracuse Orange will play the Connecticut Huskies, and the Villanova Wildcats will face the Gonzaga Bulldogs in the 2017 Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden, multiple sources told FanRag Sports and Today’s U.

An official announcement with specific dates and times will be released at a later date.

This year’s event will be on Dec. 6th and features a doubleheader of the Duke Blue Devils squaring off against the Florida Gators, and the Arizona State Sun Devils versus Purdue Boilermakers.

The 2017-18 campaign is expected to be the final regular season for Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim. It will also mark the third consecutive year that the Orange play the Huskies.

Syracuse beat UConn last year in the Battle 4 Atlantis in the Bahamas and will face Kevin Ollie’s squad on Dec. 5th at Madison Square Garden.

The Huskies are coming off a 25-win 2015-16 season, but only managed to finish sixth in the American Athletic Conference (AAC), winning 11 out of 18 games. Ollie did manage to lead the program to its second NCAA Tournament in four years. UConn, however, would falter relatively early in the Big Dance, losing in the second-round.
