The Associated Press‘ (AP) Week 10 top 25 poll looks pretty similar after a predictable weekend of college football. The Alabama Crimson Tide have once again remained on top with only two new faces entering the mix.
Despite not playing this time around after encountering their scheduled bye week, Alabama could not be knocked from their high horse atop the rankings.
The Crimson Tide made short work of the now No. 7 ranked Texas A&M Aggies in their last game, which came back on October 22. While cruising to a 33-14 win after a quiet first quarter, Alabama came out strong for the rest of the game. A fumble return for a score by Jonathan Allen was the staple play of the contest.
It is also worth noting that spots two through six remained unchanged from last week. Wisconsin jumped Nebraska, who now sit at No. 8 and No. 9 respectively, after the Badgers scored a 23-17 overtime victory over the Cornuskers. The Florida Gators also jumped into the top 10 from No. 14 after a big win over the Georgia Bulldogs.
Only two new teams appeared in the rankings this week.
The Washington State Cougars have won six consecutive games after starting the season 0-2. The Cougars defeated the Oregon State Beavers in Week 9 while putting up 22 points in the third quarter to come back from an 18-point deficit.
Oklahoma State also found their way into the heralded company. The Cowboys defeated No. 10 West Virginia, 37-20, on the back of a 20-point first half. The Mountaineers fell to No. 14 after the loss while their undated season came to a screeching halt.
