The Oklahoma State Cowboys have landed three-star CB/WR recruit Thabo Mwaniki from Texas, as Mwaniki posted on his personal Twitter account today:

Our Landon Wright wrote about his recruiting process back in May, when he had received offers from several schools but had not shown excitement with any of his options. At the time, Mwaniki noted the several personal relationships between his Texas high school and the program at Oklahoma State:

“I go to Guyer and we’ve had maybe six football players go in and out of Oklahoma State. J.W. Walsh, his dad is the head coach at our school, so we have good connections at Oklahoma State and Texas Tech has been by a few times during the springtime to come and watch me. They told me they are coming back, so hopefully that’s when I get the good news.”

However, even back then Mwaniki notes that his dream school was the California Bears:

“My dream school is Cal,” Mwaniki said. “I’ve been talking to my mom about it and I’ve done some research and Cal is where I want to go. They have not offered yet, but my high school coaches know some of the coaches over there personally so they’ve been trying to help me with that.”

According to 247Sports, Cal did not offer him a scholarship.
