In anticipation of LSU’s game against Wisconsin this Saturday at legendary Lambeau Field, Tigers’ head football coach Les Miles is warning his players against partaking in a certain Lambeau Field ritual.

That of course is doing the Lambeau Leap, or diving into the end zones seats and celebrating with fans.

Surely you have seen Green Bay Packers do this.

Some LSU players (Tre’Davious White and safety Jamal Adams) have previously stated they would love to partake in the ritual. But seeing as though the contest is a road game for LSU and a home game for Wisconsin, Miles is not taking these threats lightly.

He wants to show Wisconsin some respect.

In fact, Miles said that if any one of his players does the “leap,” they can hitchhike back to Baton Rouge.

More from Edward Aschoff of ESPN:

“I promise you that if anyone jumps for the Lambeau Leap, they’ll end up with their thumb out to see if they can get a ride home,” Miles said during Wednesday’s SEC media teleconference. “It’s college football, and we’ll play it that way, and I think our guys understand. We’ll do it right.”

A celebration like that would warrant a 15-yard unsportsmanlike penalty, as NCAA Rule 9, Section 2 prohibits “any delayed, excessive, prolonged or choreographed act by which a player (or players) attempts to focus attention upon himself (or themselves).”

White and Adams stated this week they might do the Lambeau Leap even if that meant they would be punished. We’ll see if Miles’ recent comments curb their urge to do the Lambeau Leap.
