Nebraska Cornhuskers’ graduate transfer Andrew White III has committed to play basketball for the Syracuse Orange, according to a Sunday report from Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports. It is also worth noting that he will be eligible to play immediately upon heading to Syracuse.

The 6-7, 220-pound guard averaged 16.6 points and 5.9 rebounds per game for Nebraska last season and garnered recognition as an All-Big Ten honorable mention selection. White shot 48.1 percent from the floor in 2015-2016, making 41.2 percent of his three-point attempts as well.

Had he been on Syracuse last season, that three-point percentage would have been the best mark on the team.

White, who ultimately chose Syracuse over Michigan State, Miami and Virginia Commonwealth (the latter of which is near his hometown of Richmond, Virginia), represents¬†the 10th scholarship player on the Orange’s roster heading into the 2016-2017 campaign, per Matt Schneidman of The Daily Orange.

Not only that, but this will be White’s third collegiate team. Prior to playing for the Cornhuskers, White spent two years with the Kansas Jayhawks before his breakout season last year.

White’s versatility should prove incredibly useful for Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim. He has the ability to play either shooting guard or small forward and his ability to spread the floor should open up the offense for the Orange.

Syracuse had a remarkable NCAA Tournament run last season. After almost missing out on the “Big Dance” entirely, the Orange embarked on a magical journey to the Final Four that ended with an 83-66 loss to North Carolina.
