Towards the end of the school year, Arlington (Texas) Bowie 2018 shooting guard Kyler Edwards saw his first offer come in and in just the few months that has passed since then, he’s already added ten more.
“I have USC, Boise State, New Mexico, Oklahoma State, Incarnate Word, The University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley, Utah State, Louisiana Tech and the University of Tennessee-Martin,” Edwards told Today’s U.

Since Today’s U spoke with Edwards, he has also added offers from North Texas and the University of Texas-Arlington. A few qualities about the three-star have really stood out to the college coaches that are pursuing him.
“They said I can do everything. They like how I’m not selfish and how I can share the ball,” he relayed.
At this point, the Rivals.com three-star hasn’t named any favorites. However, at least four school appear to be in pretty good position with the rising junior.
Boise State was the first to show their faith in the 6-foot-4, 195-pounder with a scholarship offer and because of that, the Broncos made a big impact on him.
“I like Boise State a lot,” Edwards said. “We talk almost every day about playing and the coach comes to my games and tells me what I did wrong and what I did good.”
Another team from out west has also put themselves squarely in the mix for Edwards.
“USC,” Edwards said. “It’s pretty much the same thing as Boise. They call me every day.”
In addition to his nine offers, two school from Edwards’ home state of Texas are also recruiting him and could extend a scholarship offer in the future.
“Texas A&M and TCU,” Edwards said. “Those are the only ones I know right now. I like both of them. They would be in my top five, if I had a top five right now.”
Edwards has already unofficially visited College Station to check out the Aggies and came away impressed with the way they do things.
“I went down there and they showed me everything they do,” he said. “I like how they practice and workout. It was a fun workout yet.
“I haven’t visited TCU yet, so I wouldn’t know how it compares.”
Since Edwards has only visited A&M, he has a lot of traveling still left do to and there’s one school he most definitely wants to check out.
“I want to visit USC,” Edwards said. “I really want to visit all of them, though.”
As far as visits go, Edwards recruiting is on hold for now and his focus has shifted to his upcoming season later this year.
“I think I’m done for the rest of the summer,” Edwards said. “I’m just trying to workout, lift weights and get stronger.”
When the time comes to narrow things down, there are two qualities that will be vital for a school to have, in landing Edwards.
“Education, I like engineering,” Edwards said. “That and just really how they treat me when I visit, if they treat me like family or not.”
Look for the three-star to wrap things up about a year from now.
“I’m going to make a decision by the end of next AAU season,” Edwards said.
