ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Michigan fifth-year senior right guard Kyle Kalis played the role of entertainer during Tuesday night’s availability session at Schembechler Hall, all while helping me get the hang of Facebook Live.
Entertaining, to say the least.
It was the first time for me, and the first time for Kalis, who described the social media platform as a “really long selfie.” During the five-minute lighthearted discussion, Kalis talks about the health of the offensive line, anticipation of Colorado — which visits Ann Arbor on Saturday — and the influence of Jim Harbaugh’s coaching staff through the first two games of 2016.
Note: a (serious) feature on the impact of Wolverines coaching is in the works…
Are Those Jordans?!
Wolverines fullback Henry Poggi didn’t hop on Facebook Live this week, but he’d definitely be a future candidate for the laid-back interview session. Why? Because he likes to get loose every now and then. Why talk about Xs and Os when you can talk about pro wrestling, house shoes and hitting people?
Note: Credit to Nick Baumgardner of MLive for spotting Poggi’s slippers…
Oh, and the redshirt junior isn’t exactly sure if he’ll see his rent deposit, either — you know, because of the standard in-house WWE performances.
If one thing was clear Tuesday night, it’s that the Wolverines (2-0) are in a good place these days. Confident yet relaxed, they’re ready to host the Buffaloes this weekend and maintain a red-hot start to 2016.
Stay up with Today’s U for gameday and weekly coverage — features, columns and analysis — of the Wolverines.
